Top Teams and Prospects Took Center Stage At the Thanksgiving Hoopfest 2018..


The 10th Annual Thanksgiving Hoopfest was held Friday and Saturday at the Sandra Meadows Arena at Duncanville HS. This national high school basketball showcase attracted HS teams and players from Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Georgia, California, Wisconsin, Missouri, with many of the country's top high school prospects taking center stage. Former NBA Players Jermaine O'Neal, Shawn Marion, Lee Nailon, Terrell Harris were also on hand to check out some of the game's Future Stars. Here's who stood out and really helped their stock at this year's event... 

10th Annual Hoopfest Elite Performers

Jalen Green  6'4  Junior Guard   

San Joaquin Memorial (CA)  

Widely considered the #1 2020 prospect in America, Jalen Green aka "The Unicorn" was as good as advertised. The 6'4 scoring guard averaged 34.5ppg 4rpg 3.5apg during Hoopfest play and had several highlight reel plays in both games. Green produced statlines of 43pts 3rebs 3ast vs Rockwall (TX) and

26pts 5rebs 4ast vs Little Elm (TX), both in winning efforts. 5-star prospect with a very bright future.

Rondell Walker 6'4 Junior Guard  

Putnam City West

39pts (4-5 from 3pt) vs TC-Cedar Hill (TX) 16pts 4ast vs Justin Northwest (TX) The Junior guard Averaged 29ppg 4.5apg with an impressive 3:1 assist-to-turnover ratio during Hoopfest play. Exploded for 39pts including 4-5 from 3 vs TC-Cedar Hill. Elite 2020 prospect holds offers from Texas A&M and SMU

Sam Williamson 6'7 Senior Guard 

Rockwall HS

The Louisville signee 34pts (6-7 3pt) vs San Joaquin Memorial (CA) 

RJ Hampton  Little Elm HS 

The 6'4 junior guard proved why he's widely considered as the top prospect in Texas, notched a game-high 33pts off an impressive 50% shooting from field, 32% from 3pt range and 90% from the stripe versus San Joaquin Memorial (CA). The 5-star 2020 prospect currently holds offers from Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, Memphis, Texas, among others. 

Tyreek Smith Senior Forward 

Trinity Christian-Cedar Hill 

The Texas A&M signee had a monster performance vs Putnam City West (OK) with a near triple-double, finishing with 31pts 14rebs 7blks. The 6'9 forward showcased his elite shot blocking and finishing ability 

Tyrese Maxey-Senior Guard  

South Garland HS 

The Kentucky signee averaged 29.5ppg 6rpg 2bpg during Hoopfest play. With Kentucky HC John Calipari in attendance, Maxey didn't disappoint, totaling 33pts 6rebs vs Silsbee (TX) and 26pts 6rebs 4blks vs Vashon (MO) including several crowd pleasing plays in both matchups. Already an early frontrunner for 2018-19 Texas POY and a lock for both the McDonald's and Jordan Brand All-American Games in the Spring

Chris Harris Jr  6'3 Senior Guard South Garland HS

The Texas A&M signee averaged 24ppg 8rpg 2.5apg during Hoopfest play including a

30pt 8reb 5ast  performance vs Silsbee (TX) and a 18pointt, 8 rebound performance vs Vashon(MO)

Jordan Adams 6'4 Senior Guard Silsbee HS

The Austin Peay signee had a big night vs South Garland dropping 32pts (10-15 FG;50% 3pt%; 6-6 FT%). 

Marcus Sasser Jr  6'2  Senior Guard Red Oak HS 

The senior guard went off for a game high 29pts vs Wauwatosa West (WI). The University of Houston signee continues to prove he's one of the best scoring guards in Texas 

Trey Phipps 6'0 Guard  Booker T Washington (OK) 

The Tulsa commit proved to be one of the best scoring guards at the Hoopfest, with 2 big time showings including a 29pts 5ast performance vs Arlington Lamar and 22pts 4ast including 4 threes vs Dallas Kimball. One of the top snipers coming out of the Sooner state. 

Andrew Laczkowski 6'6 Junior Wing  Dallas St Marks 

The Junior Wing scored a career high 28 points vs Austin LBJ including 3-3 from beyond the arc and 5 rebounds. Laczkowski consistently showcased his shotmaking ability and high basketball IQ. A top 50 2020 prospect in Texas and one of the best shooters in his class

The senior center notched a double-double at the Hoopfest with 22pts 12rebs vs Putnam City West (OK). One of the top unsigned 2019s in the state, Freeman consistently showcased his elite rebounding and finishing ability  

Avery Anderson Jr  6'2 Senior Guard    Justin Northwest HS 

The Oklahoma St signee had an impressive outing at the Hoopfest scoring 21pts along with 4 assists and 3 rebounds vs Putnam City West. 

Jahmius Ramsey 6'4 Guard Duncanville HS 

The Texas Tech signee notched a game high 21pts vs Sunrise Christian. Continues to strengthen his case for Texas POY and All-American status with his stellar play so far this season. A top 10 prospect in Texas, Top 40 Nationally
