SportsInfluencer Student-Athlete Spotlight: Jalen Wilson

Jalen Wilson is a 17-year old student-athlete attending John D. Guyer High School in Denton, TX – just 20 miles north of Dallas. The 6’8 small forward is entering his junior season at Guyer, where he is a 2- year Varsity starter on one of the state’s top ranked basketball teams. Few players have the drive, work-ethic and determination Jalen possesses. After a breakout sophomore season for his school team and a dominant early Spring AAU season, Jalen missed the entire spring AAU season with his YGC36 Select Team due to a broken foot. After an extensive 8-week rehabilitation process, he would soon be back on the court competing at a high level. Completely healed from his injury, both physically and mentally, Jalen had an opportunity to showcase his talents in front of college coaches on a big stage and he did not disappoint. With a breakout performance impressing the likes of Head Coaches Sean Miller (Arizona), Kentucky’s John Calipari (Kentucky), Steve Wojciechowski (Marquette), Scott Drew (Baylor), Lon Kruger (Oklahoma) and many others looking on, he continued his stellar play on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit throughout the summer. Following a solid showing at the Adidas Nations Top 100 Camp, Jalen saw his stock rise from a 4-star top 100 prospect to 5-star top 15 national prospect by the end of the summer of his Sophomore campaign. This 5-star prospect is currently regarded as the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2019 class and currently holds more than twenty Division 1 scholarship offers. Known as a character guy, Jalen is also very active in his community. He serves as a member of the PALS Student Leadership and Mentoring program mentoring elementary school students, providing community clean up, and feeding the homeless. Once in college, he plans to major in sports marketing and engineering and aspires to help underserved youth when he gets to the NBA. In Jalen, you always get a very coachable player that does whatever it takes to win and a player that can dominate on both ends of the floor. He is always the hardest working individual in the room who leads by example and demands accountability from his teammates.
