Duncanville Star Zarielle 'Zay' Green Changes Recent Kansas Commitment, Chooses Tennessee

Just a few short weeks ago, Zarielle Green, the No. 13 senior prospect in the nation, verbally committed to Kansas along with Duncanville teammates Starr Jacobs and Aniya Thomas. After a change of heart inspired by a weekend recruiting trip to Knoxville , the top prep player in Texas announced her committment to Tennessee. "I felt that I just had to go see if I made the right choice or not," she said. Green attended a Tennessee practice and was "wowed" by Head Coach Holly Warlick and staff. "I fell in love with Tennessee. I really feel like this is my type of school." Green brings size, versatility, and scoring to the Tennessee backcourt. She also brings a winning mentality. A proven winner and leader, Green earned Texas Player of the Year honors last season averaging 17.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per-game and led perennial national powerhouse Duncanville to state titles as a sophomore and a junior. Green will be chasing a 3-peat her senior season. Along with Green, Tennessee has commitments from guard Jazmine Massengill (ESPN No. 26) and post Amira Collins (ESPN No.76) Early signing period begins Nov. 8.
