About the event

The DFW Unsigned Senior & All-Star Showcase committee has unveiled the official nominations

for the 6th Annual Unsigned Senior & All-Star games! The 2022 teams will feature some of the state’s top

talent hailing from the DFW Metroplex. In the last six years, Heads Up! has set the stage for hundreds of

unsigned seniors to showcase their talents, giving college coaches/recruiters one ‘last look’. The majority

of those student-athletes received college scholarships. To-date, at least 95% of our student-athlete

participants are playing at the college level, overseas, and even in the NBA.

Heads Up! has spent 19 years mentoring student-athletes/leaders, providing quarterly opportunities for

development and exposure that prepares them for their future. Our first event in 2017 featured 22 of the

best players in southern Dallas county (East vs West) - all set before a host of college coaches/recruiters;

and only 4 players had college commitments prior to tip-off. Within 6 weeks following that presentation,

14 of those unsigned Seniors were offered college scholarships – some on the spot. We proudly attribute

that to the mass media exposure and direct support provided by our organization.

In 2018, we introduced the Unsigned Senior Combine which allowed eligible, high school Seniors with

little to no college offers to showcase their abilities with timed/measured events like the lane agility drill,

vertical jump, and full-court sprints. Top performers were selected to play in the Showcase Game that

preceded the All-Star Game. This added feature has proven to be a successful tool for solid college

exposure. Prior to this action-packed weekend, the selected All-Star athletes take part in a mandatory

Volunteer initiative led by Heads Up! to support small, local outreach initiatives in underserved areas in

Dallas. In addition to closed practices and player development, HeadsUp! MEDIA also hosts an exclusive

Media Day event which includes participant interviews/photos, promotion of this overall experience.

This premiere event will be principally covered by HeadsUp! MEDIA – a media division of The Heads Up!

Foundation – that produces record viewership via its social media platforms. Since December 2017,

HeadsUp! MEDIA has consistently generated over 500k+ impressions via Twitter alone (that’s over 17k

impressions per day). With an estimated 1M+ annual viewership reach, HeadsUp! MEDIA has summarily

become a trusted source for quality media coverage that remains holistically focused on the kids over

everything. There are sponsorship and advertising opportunities available for individuals, small businesses,

corporations, and non-profits that we are actively seeking to underwrite expenses.

“The student-athletes selected to the Greater DFW HS All-Star Showcase rosters represent the future of

basketball,” notes SportsInfluencer Jabari Johnson, Founder of The Heads Up! Foundation and All-Star

Week creator. “We’re excited about the opportunity to showcase some of the finest basketball talent across

the Metroplex while generating support and awareness. We are honored to serve as a launch pad of success

for our student-athletes and look forward to following their respective careers at the next level.”

The All-Star & Unsigned Senior Showcase games are open to the public. Event proceeds benefit The Heads

Up! Foundation, a local nonprofit organization founded in 2003 whose mission is to uplift youth through

sports, education, and mentoring. Since inception, The Heads Up! Foundation has impacted over 1,000,000

lives through youth mentoring, educational enrichment programs, and community outreach.
