The Dallas native is a 2004 graduate of Seagoville HS where he earned McDonald's and Parade All-American Honors. Aldridge, widely considered a 5-star recruit, considered making the jump to the NBA out of High School but eventually signed with the University of Texas where he earned 1st team All Big-12 Honors and Big12 Defensive POY. The Portland Trailblazers drafted Aldridge with the second overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft where he would become a perennial All-Star. During his rookie season, Aldridge was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome, a rare heart ailment. Aldridge spent 9 years in Portland where he was a 5x All-NBA team performer, a 7x NBA All-Star, and one of the best in franchise history. In 2015 Aldridge signed a 4-year ,$80M contract with the San Antonio Spurs
