Career Night For ORU Star/Former Jesuit HS Alum Max Abmas
Oral Roberts senior guard Max Abmas scored a
game-high 26pts in the win over Liberty tonite, surpassing the 2,000 point mark for his career.
The senior guard from Rockwall, Tx is averaging
19ppg 5.8rpg 3.7apg and shooting 42% from the field on the season.
An underrecruited, 3⭐ prospect coming out of High School, Max got a late offer from Oral Roberts and took full advantage of the opportunity to play D1 basketball. Since then he's gone from a High School underdog that was barely recruited out of High School, to one of the premier backcourt players in college basketball and one that many coaches have admitted to 'missing' on during recruitment.
Abmas went through the NBA draft process last year while maintaining his college eligibility in order to get feedback before ultimately electing to return to school. At the time of his decision to return to school, Abmas was one of the hottest players in college basketball and held dozens of Power 5 opportunities within the transfer portal. He decided to stay true to ORU and is currently having a stellar senior campaign averaging 20ppg including 31pts vs Central Arkansas and 28pts vs Tulsa and a top contender for Horizon League Player of the Year honors. Be on the lookout for Mad Max during March Madness.....it's always his favorite time of the year! IYKYK
Congratulations to Max on this HUGE accomplishment and an outstanding college career!
